EVAN POSTER AND TRANSFORMERS TV SPOT

March 31st 2007 20:20
Some quick news, since it's weekend and weekends never has any "bigger" announcements.

First off we have the poster for Evan Almighty that came out hand in hand with the trailer we talked about yesterday. It's nice and clean I think, but pretty dull (it goes hand in hand with the trailer in that aspect too). I mean it's not even FUN. Just alright.

Then we have the tv spot of the Transformers playing recently. It has some new and interesting clips of the Transformers even though it's very short. For instance we can now clearly see how they actually will transform. However, it's still not good enough for me to get hyped, not WOW. Just alright.

Let me know your thoughts.

OCEAN'S 13 - TRAILER!

March 30th 2007 13:26
oceans 13

Here we are, after recent tv-spots and a teaser, we finally get the full and maybe final trailer of Ocean's Thirteen. It delivers great fun and seems interesting enough for me to see it on the big screen.

Even though it's hard to trust it after a crappy sequel (Ocean's 12), I have a good feeling about this. I had a bad feeling about the previous one and I was right, so I kinda trust my self nowadays.

They seem to use more make up and wigs, better tricks and smarter plans. Judging from the trailer, Al Pacino does a solid performance and the guy with the weird nose is a very amusing guy (is he good or bad?).

Ocean's Thirteen has its release June 28. See the trailer below or follow this link to see it in HD quality.

HOSTEL 2 - TRAILER

March 30th 2007 10:29
hostel 2

Today seems to be trailer-day. First we had Redline, then Evan Almighty, and now to something completely different in every aspect possible - Hostel 2.

This is one scary movie. And disturbing, disgusting and all those -ings. But that's the point and that's why so many love it. Produced by Quentin Tarrantino and directed by Eli Roth, Hostel 2 seems like a decent sequel to the first part.

I don't know why this has become such a success, but considering the amount of gore, it might be the fact that it doesn't care about any limits whatsoever. It shows what it wants to show - like it or leave it. Most liked it.

I will stay objective on this one, I can't say I like it but I can understand those who did.

Now a brand new trailer is available, in Russian. I don't know if it's supposed to be in Russian or if it's just too early for an English version. After all the Russian voice over adds a bit of the mysterious climate this movie has, since the story takes place there and all.

It seems decent enough and the trailer doesn't include much of anything so don't worry if you're a bit fragile.

EVAN ALMIGHTY - TRAILER

March 30th 2007 10:11
Evan Almighty

I think everyone who has seen Bruce Almighty with Jim Carrey looks forward to this one, Evan Almighty. It's a good sequel since the characters and cast remains the same, and the story is completely new. No more "what will I do" but more "how will I do it".

And now we come down to a huge disappointment. The trailer. It takes all the excitement away, leaving us in a state where we just feel... "so what?". It literally shows us the whole movie in almost 3 minutes, including the ending. Why do they do that?

I wish there's a lot more to the movie itself and that this trailer doesn't represent it correctly because that would be a disaster. Judge by yourselves:

What did I say? Steve Carell (Evan) is one of my fave comedians though (up there with Will Ferrell) so I will undoubtedly give it a shot at me.

Wierd-o with a beard-o y'all!

CARS AND CHICKS IN REDLINE - TRAILER

March 30th 2007 09:56
Cars & Sex = Movie?

With all those Fast and the Furious movies that's the equation I get. Now it's time for yet another one. It's called Redline, and includes no A-list actors with the women only being there for the sake of it, like a wallpaper or something.

But, you always have to give stuff a chance right? It's not like it can't be entertaining. Here's the trailer for it, a lot of action and speed.

i now pronounce you chuck and larry

Well, not much to say since I don't know nor heard much in order to say. I love Adam Sandler's movies, even the serious ones. Especially Click, that one you've got to see!

I might check out Reign Over Me this weekend, with Adam and Don Cheadle in it. If anyone has seen it already, let me know what you think.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry is basically two guys (Adam Sandler and Kevin James) who marry each other in order to receive domestic partner benefits. I know, sounds awful, but don't be fooled. Judging by the trailer this is gonna be an awesomely fun ride. Take a look yourself:

Not something to put on the wall, but still good for the sake of entertainment.

mark wahlberg
Great news folks! It's a good period for castings. First we had Helen Mirren and Ed Harris in National Treasure 2 and now we have Mark Wahlberg in The Happening, the new movie of very criticized director M. Night Shyamalan.

I like Wahlberg and I like Shyamalan (why do they need to have such complicated names?), so I couldn't be more excited. I know that both are on a point where the smallest mistake can destroy them, but I believe in the best. After a solid performance by Mark in The Departed and some original and suspenseful movies by Shyamalan, like The Village and Sixth Sense, everyone should be able to forgive.

Judging from what I've heard, The Happening will be a bit scarier and spookier than the previous films. The basic plot is that Mother Nature seeks revenge on Earth. Sounds good to me anyway.

Mark will be playing Elliot Moore, a man who takes his family on the run when the world turns upside and a cataclysmic natural crisis threatens to end the world.

I hope for something far better than the Lady in the Water, which I didn't think was as bad as the media has gotten the audience to believe, but far from great too.

Will keep you updated as more news arrive.

NICE WIDE PICTURES OF SPIDER-MAN 3

March 29th 2007 21:09
Some very nice pictures are available and I thought I should share them with you. Spider-Man manages to be cool, even though the concept is a bit... uncool. A nerdy student gets bitten by a tiny spider and becomes superhero whenever he chooses to. At least before he meets the mysterious black suit... Click to enlarge:

By now I guess everyone knows about the clip where David O. Russell freaks out while shooting I Heart Huckabees. If not, go see it and then come back.

Now rumors spread Hollywood and the Internet that George Clooney is responsible for that clip getting out to the public. Why? Well, mainly because David had several fights with him during Three Kings. As you can see in the interview below, they didn't get along that well.

Then there's the sound-mixer, Edward Tise, who worked in both Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees and Good Night and Good Luck. See the connecting string? However, Clooney's agent claims, unsurprisingly, that's false:

The question is preposterous. He doesn't know how to put a video on YouTube. He barely knows how to e-mail.

I'm sure Clooney will appreciate that his agent thinks of him like a complete retard. Note to agent: When you try to save someone, don't bury him at the same time.

Here's the interview between Playboy and Clooney, where you clearly can see why these suspicions are circulating:

PLAYBOY: What made you want to do that movie?

CLOONEY: David Russell wrote as good a script as I've ever read. I fought to get it. He wanted a lot of other actors before me. They went to Mel and to Nic Cage. I wanted to work on this movie. David is in many ways a genius, though I learned that he's not a genius when it comes to people skills.

PLAYBOY: Did you learn about that the hard way?

CLOONEY: I did. He yelled and screamed at people all day, from day one.

PLAYBOY: Did he yell at you?

CLOONEY: At me often --- and at someone daily. He'd throw off his headset and scream, "Today the sound department flicked me!" For me, it came to a head a couple of times. Once, he went after a camera-car driver who I knew from high school. I had nothing to do with his getting his job, but David began yelling and screaming at him and embarrassing him in front of everybody. I told him, "You can yell and scream and even fire him, but what you can't do is humiliate him in front of people. Not on my set, if I have any say about it." Another time he screamed at the script supervisor and made her cry. I wrote him a letter and said, "Look, I don't know why you do this. You've written a brilliant script, and I think you're a good director. Let's not have a set like this. I don't like it and I don't work well like this." I'm not one of those actors who likes things in disarray. He read the letter and we started all over again. But later, we were three weeks behind schedule, which puts some pressure on you, and he was in a bad mood. These army kids, who were working as extras, were supposed to tackle us. There were three helicopters in the air and 300 extras on the set. It was a tense time, and a little dangerous, too. David wanted one of the extras to grab me and throw me down. This kid was a little nervous about it, and David walked up to him and grabbed him. He pushed him onto the ground. He kicked him and screamed, "Do you want to be in this fucking movie? Then throw him to the fucking ground!" The second assistant director came up and said, "You don't do that, David. You want them to do something, you tell me." David grabbed his walkie-talkie and threw it on the ground. He screamed, "Shut the fuck up! Fuck you," and the AD goes, "Fuck you! I quit." He walked off.

It was a dangerous time. I'd sent him this letter. I was trying to make things work, so I went over and put my arm around him. I said, "David, it's a big day. But you can't shove, push or humiliate people who aren't allowed to defend themselves." He turned on me and said, "Why don't you just worry about your fucked-up act? You're being a dick. You want to hit me? You want to hit me? Come on, pussy, hit me." I'm looking at him like he's out of his mind. Then he started banging me on the head with his head. He goes, "Hit me, you pussy. Hit me." Then he got me by the throat and I went nuts. Waldo, my buddy, one of the boys, grabbed me by the waist to get me to let go of him. I had him by the throat. I was going to kill him. Kill him. Finally, he apologized, but I walked away. By then the Warner Bros. guys were freaking out. David sort of pouted through the rest of the shoot and we finished the movie, but it was truly, without exception, the worst experience of my life.

PLAYBOY: Did you resolve things? Would you ever work with him again?

CLOONEY: Life's too short.

Personally I don't believe Clooney is responsible for the David O. Russell - Lily Tomlin clip, but stuff like this amuse me. A bit of mystery in life is never wrong. Maybe someone should make a conspiracy movie about this, I'm sure it'll become popular with all the buzz it got from the web.

UPDATE: Here's a statement by George Clooney himself:

Contrary to popular opinion, neither the sound man, Ed Tise, nor yours truly sent in the David O. Russell tape. I saw it when we were working on Ocean's 12, and there have been quite a few copies traveling around town for the last couple of years. Any rumor that either of us put it on the Internet is simply false.

And I'd offer a million bucks to anyone who would prove otherwise.

Your fan,
George Clooney

So, anyone wanna play detective? A million bucks is a lot.

BOURNE ULTIMATUM - TRAILER!

March 28th 2007 16:38

The odds you like the Bourne flicks are very high. In fact I haven't met anyone who doesn't like them. On the other hand, I haven't met anyone who REALLY likes them either, so I guess they place somewhere in between.

The Bourne Identity was something very cool when it came, and it still is. I like movies where the hero can't die. Like Mission Impossible and 007.

The sequel, The Bourne Supremacy was, in my eyes, a disaster. I know many will disagree, thinking it was at least as good as its ancestor, but no. Not nearly as exciting. I don't know if this is correct, but I think Matt Damon said himself that it was shit. Or maybe it was a dream of mine, I can't quite tell the difference.

And now we await the third in the row - Ocean's Thirteen. Ehm, I mean The Bourne Ultimatum of course. Sorry. Their history structure is pretty alike, that's why I mixed them up. Good - Bad - Unknown.

A trailer is out now, which gives us a tiny peek on what is to come.

You can find it over at Yahoo.

National Treasure cast
I loved National Treasure and I'm glad to hear these news about the sequel. Until now the cast was unknown, which is weird since shooting has already begun. However today some news came forward that gives us all information we need about that.

Like the title mentions, Helen Mirren will be part of National Treasure: Book of Secrets, playing Nicolas Cage's mother. In other words she'll be Emily Gates. This is a woman with enormous talent and I can't imagine anyone else playing The Queen better than her.

Then we have the bad guy. In the first one it was Sean Bean, the bad guy of bad guys. In this one we'll see Ed Harris. Not bad eh (I mean the news, not Ed)? He is also one of my favorite stars and a good bad guy as well (A History of Violence, Enemy at the Gates, etc). He will be Jeb Wilkinson, who has some information about Gates' father and aligns himself as an ally only to become...

Of course the initial cast will be back in action, like Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha and Harvey Keitel.

Impressive news if you ask me! December 17 is the day and I'm the first to attend.

JOHNNY DEPP AS SWEENEY TODD

March 28th 2007 11:22
By now we all know that Depp is playing the role of Todd in the film adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's musical. He's currently in England shooting and PerezHilton already got some photos of him, looking weird in a Tim Burton style.

I look forward to this movie and as a Burton and Depp fan I don't expect anything less than perfect.

28 WEEKS LATER -TRAILER

March 27th 2007 22:24

Not long ago this poster came online and I thought it was pretty cool. Well, that was before this so much cooler trailer appeared today.

It's the trailers purpose to make a movie interesting and hypnotize the whole world into seeing it. In other words, it's a trailers obligation to be as good as this:

What I especially like is that I can see a storyline and not just zombies running around and doing what they do best - being jerks. 28 Weeks Later actually gives us something to care about.

Anyhow, shouldn't get my expectations to high, you never know with these flicks. Maybe the trailer is the only good part about the whole thing. For more info about the plot, head over here.

JOHNNY DEPP AND BANDERAS IN SIN CITY

March 27th 2007 19:34

Sounds good, doesn't it? I mean Sin City might not be the most commercial movie but it's artful and daring in a bloody way. I know many people who literally felt ill or even puked because of its raw material.

But still. It's popular and great in its own little way. That's probably also the reason Depp and Antonio Banderas want to get involved with it.

They say Banderas is so impressed by the film, he'll play whatever part in Sin City 2. Johnny Depp wanted to play Benicio Del Toro's character in the first one, but it never became due to schedule, so Rodriguez has a better part for him in Sin City 3. Here's an excerpt from Robert Rodriguez's interview with VH1:

[Johnny Depp] was interested in doing the Jackie Boy character that Benicio played, but he was doing that movie Libertine in Europe and it just kept getting pushed and delayed and went right through our shooting schedule. But there is a better role for him in [Sin City 3, based upon Hell and Back]. I kept going, 'Gosh, Jackie Boy is a small part, he could be really good [as Wallace].' When he wasn't available, I thought maybe it was meant to be.

When I showed [Antonio Banderas] the first sample of the work, he went, 'Man I'll do anything in that. I'll be the hunchback. You have to bring me onboard, that looks amazing. So Frank met him that time too and he said, 'I have got to find something for that guy. I've never met him before. He's amazing.' [We're] looking at the cast of characters and to see where he can fit.

I don't mind, I like the idea. With Depp in it the box office will blow to 1000 pieces. That is when I go in there with a shotgun and actually blow the place up because of all the excitement.

Until later,

NEW TRANSFORMERS POSTERS ARE OUT

March 27th 2007 15:19

Finally we get a first look at the Transformers posters that are supposed to debut tomorrow in the US, but Internet is always one step ahead.

Even though I'm not a fan of the Transformers, I actually look forward to this one with all my heart. It's one of those movies that should become a part in history, the kind that children will watch 15 years from now and appreciate even though the special effects won't be special anymore. Like we feel about the original Terminator today.

Michael Bay has suffered a lot from critics but I still believe on a great result. This is his genre, where he feels most comfortable. The cast is also good, not super A, but there's plenty of quality (Jon Voight, John Turturro, Bernie Mac, etc).

Let's get down to business now. Here are the brand new posters, I like this first one:

SCORSESE DiCAPRIO = TRUE

March 26th 2007 15:30

Unbelievable! Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio will actually make a movie together! What better fit than that, right?

Oh... What? They've done it before? A mill... a million times? Wow, I feel awkward right now.

Seriously though, they're back together again to make The Wolf of Wall Street. I don't blame them, they're such a cute couple. And talented too, of course. The guy who wrote Hollywoodland is attached to write the script. I don't know, Hollywoodland was far from great. However when I think about it, I can see how it would match Scorsese's style.

Both DiCaprio and Scorsese will produce it for Warner Bros. if the script turns out good and Paramount might join them. Hey, as long as they make good movies, I don't care what they do.

Now let's wait until more about this project is announced. Something surprising, like that Jack Nicholson will co-star and Wahlberg will have a supporting role. Just like the Departed.

I haven't read the book or even know exactly what this is about, but His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass looks good. Very good indeed.

I didn't like Narnia, and even though this movie can easily be compared it, the execution feels much more mature and bulletproof. Of course with a cast such as Daniel Craig, Nicole Kidman, Sam Elliott and more it's hard to not make it bulletproof.

It's also fun that Daniel Craig and Eva Green reunite in The Golden Compass after being boyfriend and girlfriend in Casino Royale.

In summary, this is what it's all about (through IMDB):

Adaptation of the Carnegie Medal-winning novel by Pullman, the first volume in the His Dark Materials trilogy. In a parallel Oxford, young Lyra Belacqua begins a dimension-crossing odyssey that builds from a merely atypical children's adventure into a complex (and frequently quite dark) philosophical epic.

Now a production trailer is out, a cross between a trailer and behind-the-scenes footage. Here you go:

11 GRINDHOUSE CLIPS

March 25th 2007 19:06

Not long since the news about its rating, IESB has several clips up of both Planet Terror and Death Proof, parts of Grindhouse. Even though I wasn't that excited about it, I got to admit I became a bit after watching them.

Planet Terror, the one by Rodriguez, has great action in it and looks real cool. Unlike most action flicks these days it actually tries original stuff. Stuff that will blow you away.

However, Death Proof, the one by Tarantino fits better with my taste. I like good dialogue and smart stories, which is exactly what Death Proof promises.

I'm certain both will be great and a different experience for those not scared to try them, but I'm not sure as to whether I personally will like them. Not that it matters, I mean it's not like I'm special or anything...

Like I said, head over to IESB to see the Grindhouse clips kick ass.

PICTURES FROM THE NEW RAMBO

March 24th 2007 22:20
Stallone is shooting his new Rambo-movie as we speak. I saw Rocky Balboa a while ago and it wasn't too bad, which gives me hopes that Stallone will try to make Rambo almost as good. In other words I cross my fingers it'll be at least DVD worthy.

IMDB says about the plot:

Rambo is recruited by a group of Christian human rights missionaries to protect them against pirates, during a humanitarian aid deliver to the persecuted Karen people of Burma. After some of the missionaries are taken prisoner by sadistic Burmese soldiers, Rambo gets a second impossible job: to assemble a team of mercenaries to rescue the surviving relief workers.

Oh, and by the way, it's titled John Rambo. Full names seem to be the perfect ending of Stallone's franchises (the other one would be Rocky Balboa).

RATATOUILLE OFFICIAL TRAILER!

Cars was a disappointment but that's just because Pixar always had done the best movies before. We were spoiled. Now with Ratatouille they're going to rise to the top once again, making us ask for more like tiny babies.

The animation is very smooth, the rats are fun and the story overall is original and smart. Well, the trailer says it all really, so here you go:

GRINDHOUSE GETS AN R-RATING

March 23rd 2007 23:55
By now probably everyone knows about Grindhouse, the movie with two movies made by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. Looks cool, but not exactly my cup of tea.

It has very nasty stuff in it, some of which they say is an obese man eating a baby. *puke*

I don't know how, but yesterday it got an R-rating. Here's what Knowles (AICN) said about his conversation with Rodriguez:

I just got off the phone with Rodriguez - who is celebrating getting his R-rating for the double feature without having to sacrifice much of anything. He only lost part of a brain-eating scene and Quentin only lost part of one of the crash scenes.

It sounds like they didn't had to cut much, which isn't what I expected for an R-rating. By the rumors I thought they would have to cut the whole thing into half. I guess all the nasty promo is all the nasty in the movie itself as well.

Another thing is it's gonna be REALLY long, 3 hours and 5 minutes. Most recent movie I saw get near that is King Kong. Hopefully there will be more action in Grindhouse though.

Until laterz.

THE FINAL SPIDER-MAN 3 TRAILER

March 23rd 2007 14:46

If you haven't seen the first ones yet, do it. Even if you're an old bored lonely guy.

It has also been a lot of talk about Venom, of whether this mysterious villain will appear or not in Spider-Man 3. Well he will, and in matter of fact this new trailer is pretty concentrated on him. You want a picture to go with that? No problem:

As the title suggests, Martian Child is about a child that says he's from Mars and acts all eccentric. If you've seen K-Pax you know what I'm talking about.

Martian Child has John Cusack and Joan Cusack in it. Got you there didn't I? Yes they're siblings. Also we'll see Amanda Peet, obnoxious as always (but that's just me).

So, a new trailer is out folks which I think is pretty cute but still not as original as it should. You know what the rule for making similar movies is, making it better or don't make it at all. This just doesn't look better than either K-Pax or I Am Sam.

You never know though. You'll find the trailer here.

Whoa! A lot of comic-news are heading towards us with a speed of Iron Man, strengh of Hellboy and pantyhose of the Justice League-team. Okay I'm not sure what that last thing was all about but still... Let's get down to business:

Some time ago a rumor circulated the net that Batman weren't gonna be in the Justice League film, something that sounded very smart. However that is false, new reliable sources say, and if there will be a Justice League film, Batman will certainly attend. Christian Bale, the current Batman, has a contract to make 3 movies in total one of which might be an ensemble-flick. One down, one coming and one unknown. Can it be Justice League?

Hellboy seems to be a popular Marvel-movie and therefore a sequel is coming out, called Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. Weird title but I'm sure it makes sense once seeing it. This is what Superheroflix says about the plot:

After an ancient truce existing between humankind and the invisible realm of the fantastic is broken, hell on Earth is ready to erupt. A ruthless leader who treads the world above and the one below defies his bloodline and awakens an unstoppable army of creatures. Now, it's up to the planet's toughest, roughest superhero to battle the merciless dictator and his marauders. He may be red. He may be horned. He may be misunderstood. But when you need the job done right, it's time to call in Hellboy (Ron Perlman).

Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr. (perfect choice if you ask me), is past first week of photography and director Jon Favreu shares the progress with us through his Myspace-blog. Does every single person in Hollywood have one of these now? Here's an interesting piece:

We are done with the first week of photography. I am happy to report that the ten months of preparation allowed the extremely challenging first week of photography to come off without a hitch. The look is fantastic and the performances are great as well. Downey was definitely the right choice.

I begin to think Jon hesitated about Robert Downey Jr. when they began filming but has realized everything's gonna work out just fine.

Cheers everyone!

JET LI IS THE MUMMY IN MUMMY 3

March 22nd 2007 15:29

Oh momma, Jet Li as the mummy, isn't that mummylicious?

I like Jet Li, he's a nice dude. It's not like I know him or anything, but he looks like a kind type. Until you tease him and get a karate-kick up your ass that is.

Also, I'm excited about the third installment of The Mummy, since the first ones were pretty enjoyable flicks. I like adventure, and I like it good. Different sources say Mummy 3 follows Brendan and Rachel's son who after fighting in WW II devoted himself to archeology, just like his parents. Are we clear Ahmed (lol)?

If I see a single flashback or nightmare scene of him fighting in WW II, I'm gonna kick Li's ass and become the Mummy myself in order to hunt the producers for all eternity. Or I could just not care.

Anyway, that's it. Released next summer (July 2008).

28 WEEKS LATER - POSTER

March 22nd 2007 10:10
For you that haven't seen 28 Days Later, it's about zombies.

Anyone else feeling zombies just aren't COOL anymore? It's like having the same hairstyle as those Beverly Hills 90210 guys. But that doesn't stop Hollywood from producing a sequel, of course.

So what's this about then? IMDB says: "Seven months after the rage virus has annihilated the British isles, the US army declares that the war against infection has been won, and that the reconstruction of the country can begin. In the first wave of returning refugees, a family is reunited--but one of them unwillingly carries a terrible secret. The virus is not yet dead, and this time, it is more dangerous than ever."

One thing's for sure, they tried really hard to come up with the title - 28 Weeks Later. Not days, weeks. That sounds even more boring. I'm not negative though (yeah right), so I'll give it a credit for the new poster:

I think it's cool in a communist way.

This is really amusing. When we see a movie it never occurs to us what has happened while filming a particular scene. The finished material looks so perfect, when in reality it might have been a hell to create.

For you that have seen or even heard about I Heart Huckabees, this will be very interesting. For you that haven't, this will still be interesting:

Like you probably already have guessed, the man screaming is the director, David O. Russell and the poor woman is well-known Lily Tomlin.

Who's fault it is? Judging from more than this incident, David O. Russell's. While shooting Three Kings, they say that a similar fight occurred between George Clooney and him, when Clooney didn't like the way he treated the cast. Here's what they supposedly said to each other:

Clooney: David, it’s a big day. But you can’t shove, push or humiliate people who aren’t allowed to defend themselves.

Russell: Why don’t you just worry about your fucked-up act? You’re being a dick. You want to hit me? You want to hit me? Come on, pussy, hit me.

OUCH.

Whatever the case is, I like Russell's movies. Too bad he has to be that way...

NO RESERVATIONS - YUMMY TRAILER

March 21st 2007 19:30

I'm a huge fan of Catherine Zeta-Jones (especially her looks), so I'm glad this trailer delivers great promises. Other than Zeta Jones, we can see Abigail Breslin and Aaron Eckhart. All in all a simple but still excellent cast.

It seems fun and the story looks original enough. By "enough" I mean not original at all since you could say No Reservations is a remake of the German movie titled Bella Martha. And very similar to Raising Helen (with Abigail Breslin in it as well).

However I don't care - a good story is a good story, and to be honest there are stories made over and over again ten times more (Steven Seagal anyone?). As long as this isn't of lower caliber, it's forgiven.

Now watch the trailer and create your own opinion:

TOM CRUISE TO KILL HITLER

March 21st 2007 11:23

You heard me, now that he killed Oprah it's time for Tom to kill Hitler (I could continue this joke, but I won't). In a movie of course, directed by Bryan Singer.

I like Bryan singer, but not in Superman Returns. Usual Suspects is one of my favorite movies of all time and if you haven't seen it make sure to add it to your list of top things to do before you die.

Now back to the Tom-Hitler movie. It's obviously set during WW II and the story will be about a plot to kill Hitler by his own generals. Sounds cool, and Variety says it'll have "the ensemble character intrigue present in The Usual Suspects." A movie with good characters tends to be the perfect one, if you think about it.

I belive in this.

SUPERMAN, HERMIONE AND BOND

March 20th 2007 00:13
Sometimes there are just too many news to announce that it's much better to pack them all in a nice neat box and post them together. Some are good and some are bad. Where do I start?

Emma Watson will probably drop out of playing Hermione in Harry Potter since she's bored with that role. She's been in the five previous movies, which is quite a lot. Some of you know that I haven't seen any of the Potter films, but I guess this is bad news for all of you who care. My speculation is this is all a trick by Emma to get more money, but that's just me.

James Bond's next movie will be a direct continuation to Casino Royale, something pretty obvious considering the ending of it. There is more Bond needs to get straight and that's what we'll see next. Sean Connery is actually trying to get out of his retirement in order to make a come-back as Bond's father. I'm not sure it would be a good idea... sounds a bit weird. Bond himself is his own father, confusing.

Now some big news. The next Superman won't be made anytime soon. Unless you consider Justice League as Superman, because then it'll be done quicker. For you not into comics, Justice League is like a team with the best superheroes there are. Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Superman and many more. It sounds similar to Watchmen currently being made by powerful Snyder (300), so there will be a tough competition.

And then there's the huge dilemma. As we all know, Batman, Superman and soon probably Flash as well, all have their own franchises on the side. To change the actors to other ones is the worst thing that could happen, takes you right out of character. However, to solve this, most sources say Batman won't be in it (he's doing very well aready) and Superman will have someone else to play him in both Justice League and any future Superman "sequel". Apparently everybody hates Chris... ehm, I mean Brandon Routh. I don't know about Flash, but since it's new I think the same goes for him.

Exciting stuff I must say. Hopefully we'll find out the truth about this mystery soon.

WHAT'S YOUR CELEBRITY CRUSH?

March 19th 2007 12:32
Hey y'all.

I know everyone has some celebrity they feel more "secure" with than others. Secure it will be a good movie, secure he/she will take the right choices, secure they'll be cool in real life.

So based on Moviefone's Fans' Celebrity Crushes, what's your crush?

I'm not sure myself, very hard, but I know two people that make me feel better, and here they are:

Kate Winslet. Is there anyone out there who DOESN'T like her? She makes great movies and looks like a decent actress compared to all the wannabes out there (sorry Jessica Simpson). I loved Finding Neverland and Eternal Sunshine. She might not be the best-looking out there but there's definitely something about her.

Ol' Johnny. I don't think I even have to explain this to anyone. Eveybody knows he's the best and that every single movie he touches becomes gold. Okay, I'm maybe a bit disappointed with The Libertine, but that's about it. Even Cry Baby is endured due to him. He starred in Finding Neverland as well, but I promise it's a complete coincidence. Also a good father and of course I know many girls that adore him. I wish he'll make a movie without all the make-up soon, it's been a long time since last.

There you go, now it's your turn. Either post in the comments below or make a blog-post of your own (if you have a blog that is) and let me know.

Until later.

300 DIRECTOR INTERVIEW ON WATCHMEN

March 19th 2007 11:46

If you have seen 300 you probably know how much Zack Snyder rules. If you haven't - Zack Snyder rules. Now you know.

But enough about 300. It's time to concentrate on Watchmen, Snyder's next movie. It's of course cartoon-based and has to deal with superheroes. Really bad-assed superheroes, not Superman-sissy ones (at least in the Singer version).

Snyder is giving an interview about Watchmen that I find very interesting. Amongst others, he mentions that it will be R-rated (no surprise) and that Gerrard Butler will be in the cast again. Head over to Reelz where you can find the whole interview.

Give me your thoughts on Snyder's work so far.

STARDUST TRAILER

March 18th 2007 15:01
Stardust is a story about a young man that makes a promise to his beloved that he'll retrieve a fallen star by venturing into the magical realm [IMDB]. Sounds cool, huh?

Robert De Niro has been gone for too long, but will return by the end of this summer in Stardust. I don't care, think he's good but a bit overrated. However, I see him as a brand for good movies, which is always something.

A trailer is out now, that looks adventurous and beautiful if you ask me.

Even thought I disliked the second movie in this franchise, I'm ready to give it another chance. Hopefully they've learned their lesson and will try to make it a bit more un-Disney this time.

The concept is good and the teams behind and in front of it are good as well, so I don't see the obstacle here. UNLESS they decide to make one.

The all new Russian trailer is out Now the English trailer is available so make sure to fully enjoy the eye-candy together with the ear-candy.

Notice the sword-fight near the end (1:48). It matches the music perfectly, very cool:

FANTASTIC POSTERS

March 17th 2007 21:57
Okay here's the deal. The world is going crazy about five things:

1. A guy made of silver.
2. A chick hotter than the fry-pan itself.
3. A wannabe nerdy professor.
4. A guy made of stone.
5. A guy made of balls.

I like to be objective, so I won't say who I prefer but give you a clue: Big... things.

Check them out:

SAW IV AND SAW V AND SAW FOREVER

March 17th 2007 00:53

Okay, so this is my fifth post in less than 24 hours. I guess I'm excited about the whole come-back after several months of not being active... You don't want to see how many posts I'll be doing if I actually start making some revenue out of this.

You know Jigsaw? The old guy that dies in Saw III? Well guess what?

Hollywood resurrects him for two more installations in the Saw-franchise! I really hope there's some perfect explanation to this, otherwise I'll go over there and play Jigsaw live. Or something.

They say that Saw III had scenes/parts especially shot with the movies to follow in the back of their head. I mean, the movies won't follow in the back of their heads, but they had Saw IV and V in mind when they made III.

Forget what I said about turning into Jigsaw, because really, when it comes to movies like this I just don't bother to care. They may even have Red Riding Hood be one of Jigsaw's apprentices and I would eat my popcorn and enjoy the big twist at the end anyway.

Of course a good movie is a bonus, but that remains to see.

Shooting starts in April.

RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION - TRAILER

March 17th 2007 00:16

You liked the two first Resident Evil movies? I did almost. I mean, the good thing is the sequel was as good as the first one. However, both were pretty plain quality-wise.

I give the creators credit for the idea, since it's one of the first movies on this topic, followed by like a million similar ones (see 28 Days Later and Doom). The idea? A virus makes people to zombies/monsters. Nice huh?

Anyway, the trailer is out for the third one, called Resident Evil - Extinction. My prediction is it'll be as good if not better than the prequels, which isn't something I say about sequels often.

Why I do say that then? Because the trailer really gained my interest. Looks a bit Pitch Black, doesn't it?

Oh, and by the way, I never really liked Milla Jovovich and her performance.

CATE BLANCHETT IN INDY 4

March 16th 2007 18:31

I'm SO close to loose all interest concerning the new Indiana Jones flick (showing how close with my fingers). I mean, can Hollywood go and make it already? We already know it'll probably ruin the whole series so it doesn't really matter.

Okay, clearly I don't show trust that Spielberg and Lucas will do something worthy, but that's just me. "Quels" seem to do alright after Mission Impossible 3 and Casino Royale.

Anyway, Cate Blanchett is (probably) attached to Indy 4 and will play a major role. Or starring role at least. I like Cate and hope for her own good that she doesn't ruin her flawless record of good movies with this one.

May 22, 2008 is when we'll know.

RATATOUILLE - LONG TRAILER!

March 16th 2007 14:12

You remember oldies, like Aristocats and Cinderella? Well, I don't remember grown-ups respecting those movies a lot, even thought they were great. However I can't blame them, since they were made significantly for children. The humor, the animation, everything.

Now we've entered a new era, were animated movies are no longer for the kids alone, but is more 50-50. Adults enjoy them, as do I. Actually I have seen every single animated movie from Toy Story on. Thank you Pixar.

I think Pixar made the start and then Dreamworks and other companies followed. The humor is on a completely new level and everyone can laugh. Hard.

Now, to get to the point, Ratatouille is probably one of the movies I've been "dying" for in a long time. The animation, the story, the city... Who doesn't love Paris?

A new trailer is out, intended for the Japanese (or Chinese?) market, that gives us a perfect look into what the movie is going to be about. It's longer than usual, 3 minutes, which makes me think it isn't the same we're gonna see in the US together with Meet the Robinsons near the end of this month.

The movements of the rat are so smooth. Incredible. Check it out and let me know your thoughts. Embedding is disabled so you have to visit YouTube to see the trailer.
