28 WEEKS LATER - NEW POSTER
April 13th 2007 15:39
Since the post about the trailer for 28 Weeks Later has become quite popular I understand this movie got a lot of fans awaiting it.
And personally I feel it's going to be better than its prequel 28 Days Later. Not great, but better.
A new poster is available, with a lot of dead people and two saints in the middle. Or at least they look like saints with that ugly gradient around them. Other than that I think it's a successful attempt at marketing this. It looks like big budget and all. Click to make it really big:

I think 28 Days Later is a great film, loaded with social commentary, not just another zombie-style flick.
The trailer for this film makes it look like soul-less Hollywood zombie-action schlock. Just with lots of money.
It might have made a better film if it wasn't a cash-in on the first one? And Boyle has nothing to do with it.... that's gotta tell you something... right?

Well, personally I didn't like 28 Days Later as much. I mean it's not bad, but not something to put on the wall if you know what I mean.
On the other hand this looks a bit better. Again, not great, but better. But you can be right.

Hey - film is the ultimate in subjectivity.
It amuses me though that many still equate production values with the quality of storytelling. Too many people find it hard to get past something that looks like it didn;t have a lot of money, when the storytelling involved is 10 times better than the average Hollywood blockbuster with the budget of an average third world nations national budget.
;o)
Mind you, I will get out to see this soon - I'd be more than happy to be wrong here!

Hey yoda,
you're right about the quality, but I've heard great stuff about this one...
Let us know your conclusions after seeing it.
Thanks about the banner. I can't seem to find something good, so I'm exploring my way through the styles =)
Have a good one,
