3:10 TO YUMA - PICTURES

April 20th 2007 11:40
3:10 to Yuma promises to be good. Great, almost perfect, cast and the story isn't bad either. I'm not a fan of western flicks, but this seems to be more than that. Interesting.

Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Ben Foster are some of the stars in 3:10 to Yuma. I must say, that's like my dream-team right there. The movie is about a small-time rancher that agrees to hold a captured outlaw who's awaiting a train to go to court in Yuma. A battle of wills ensues as the outlaw tries to psych out the rancher. (IMDB)

Until the trailer or poster, we have to settle with some nice pictures. My film-radar says "appealing".

For F*Ck sake, another remake of a fanatstic film that was done perfectly first time around. One of my fave westerns.

Elmore Leonards original screenplay is briliant and the two leads of Van Hefflin and Glen Ford had real chemistry...

I hate how they do this and their is no way I could put up with Rusell Crowe in cowboy mode......

Shame because Director James Mangold (Identity, Copland) and Christian Bale will bring alot to the project.

I know I know, but maybe this is somewhat good as well... It has the people involved with the screenplay know what they do and the cast is nice.

You don't like Russell Crowe? Why's that? I mean I wouldn't want to be close when he gets angry, but so far his performances have all been solid, don't you think?

I can understand the fury when great movies get remade though.

I liked Crowe in The Insider, I think thats it.....the rest he annoys me with his over emotive, hammy physical style. Too much arm waving and fake line delivery through clenched teeth, his performance style just doesnt seem genuine to me. (In other words he always looks like he's acting, I never belive him)

Ok, I see.

How about A Beautiful Mind? I really believed him in that one

And Gladiator as well...

FP,
Don't know if they can make that movie any better, only hope.
I thought Crowe, and all the actors, worked beautifully as an ensemble in LA Confidential, and wish there were more movies like it.

Hi Theresa,

Yea LA is another example of a good Crowe performance.

I don't think they'll do it better but hopefully not much worse. I don't mind a modern take on it.
