More T? An A Team Movie on the Cards...

June 25th 2007 13:35
Apparently an A-Team Movie has been on the cards, then off, then on, then off since the Mid Nineties. However, right at the moment it’s very much on the cards – so much so that Bruce Feirstein has been named as the writer. He’s written some 007 films, so it’s a safe bet that an A-Team screenplay will be everything it should.

The original series of the A Team featured four mercenaries, on the run for a crime uncommitted. As the shows introduction would say –

The original cast will be replaced, but the new cast are as of yet unnamed. This might seem to be a mistake – after all, who can do Mr T like Mr T? Plus, with the blooming popularity of aged male pop culture stars of kitsch old TV shows (think David Hasselhoff and Chuck Norris) the time is right for a bit of T. However, suckers for tradition might be heartened to know that cameo appearances are on the cards for all the remaining members of the original TV show.

The verdict? If you’re looking for Oscar winning material, miss it. But it promises to be a bit of fun, and should be well worth a look.

Hi Brenton,

This falls straight in the potential guilty pleasure basket. Ive revisited the originals and they make me smile for different reasons now. Still a good time.

I remember this going through the rumour mill a few years ago...
if I recall the inspired casting was George Clooney as Hannibal (Which is easy to see) and Ving Rhames as B.A Barrakas.

Giving it a serious face lift ala Battlestar Galactica could work too.

You can replace B.A.!

I guess Ving would be pretty good...

..but YOU CAN'T REPLACE B.A.!

I pity the fool who tries.
