ALIENS VS. PREDATOR - REQUIEM

That's the title of the new Aliens vs. Predator movie, which until now simply was called AvP2. Aliens Vs. Predator - Requiem.

"Requiem" sounds very cliché in a way, but that's what you expect by this kind of franchise. It reminds me of the Resident Evil sequel-titles, "Apocalypse" and "Extinction". A cool word is all it takes, right?

ComingSoon also notes that the studio registered the domain to this title - AliensvsPredatorRequiem.com

Surprisingly I didn't mind the first Alien vs Predator film....I thought it was going to be below B grade, but it went OK....I think.

Will be interesting to see how this one goes.

I know what you mean about the cool word addition on the end.....very Hollywood.

Hey Chic C,

Yea, I didn't mind it either. Wasn't good but entertaining if you'd like something simple for friends-gathering or so.

This will probably be in just the same caliber as the first one - not worse, not better.

Damo - The Queen is NOT dead - they couldnt kill her they just threw her off the ice. She was alive man. They dont need atmosphere to survive, shes just chillin down there evolving and cooking up some new ultra cool offspring to kick our arse!

Ñot only the queen, but in the end of the first movie you see the dead predator giving birth to a hybrid alien, it has the same jaws as the predators. Not sure if they will follow that plot though.

If you watch the trailer at ign.com you can see the alien/predator hybrid kind of you have to look close to catch it though

I guess it's like some kinda unwritten law that they just have to take any successful film and make more and more sequels to it - until there's nothing left of the original atmosphere which made the film so successful in the first place, and what *will* be left is just cheap entertainment. Maybe this film is going to be better than AvP was, but it's clear that it won't be able to match the original Alien and Predator sagas. Which is a real pity...
