BOURNE ULTIMATUM - TRAILER!
March 28th 2007 16:38
The odds you like the Bourne flicks are very high. In fact I haven't met anyone who doesn't like them. On the other hand, I haven't met anyone who REALLY likes them either, so I guess they place somewhere in between.
The Bourne Identity was something very cool when it came, and it still is. I like movies where the hero can't die. Like Mission Impossible and 007.
The sequel, The Bourne Supremacy was, in my eyes, a disaster. I know many will disagree, thinking it was at least as good as its ancestor, but no. Not nearly as exciting. I don't know if this is correct, but I think Matt Damon said himself that it was shit. Or maybe it was a dream of mine, I can't quite tell the difference.
And now we await the third in the row - Ocean's Thirteen. Ehm, I mean The Bourne Ultimatum of course. Sorry. Their history structure is pretty alike, that's why I mixed them up. Good - Bad - Unknown.
A trailer is out now, which gives us a tiny peek on what is to come.
You can find it over at Yahoo.

Thanks for the trailer; looks good.
I think you're right about the Bourne movies:
they're good, but hard to say you love them.
Looking forward to Ms. Mirren in NT2.
She should make it fun

Yea, the Bourne movies are fun entertainment but not more nor less.
Mirren is great, I'm sure it'll turn out perfect.

I love both Bourne films ... (These are the types of films that Hollywood does best ... [where there's a good novel to base the screenplay on ... it needs a huge budget etc ...
And Robert Ludlum's background before he became a writer (as in stage/theatre/drama ... ) ... and how many books he's sold? Well that just speaks for itself ...
I enjoyed the sequel as much as the first one ... (but it's probably just a particular taste of mine in films ... I like a good plot ...(not predictable formulaic film making ... (and when the main characters are not necessarily the most handsome or most georgeous .. but they just act ... (and I still think Matt Damon is really Todd Woodbridge ...
I wasn't a big fan of Matt Damons until I saw the Bourne films ... [and The Talented Mr Ripley ...
So, I guess that's just my taste in films ... it doesn't bother me if other people don't like them ... I do ... and I'll look forward to seeing the third one when it comes out ...

Hey, I'm with you on this one, The Bourne films are good and I like them. I just don't LOVE them. Many good books have become bad movies, but this one keeps a certain quality.

Don't worry, I don't. That's why I joke about it

Fun Facts
The first one was skewed badly enough but the 2nd one was a joke. Apart from the name of Jason Bourne, nothing else related to the book.
I think I'll be giving this a miss too sadly - but if someone ever comes along and does it properly I'll be very interested.

I do not like Matt Damon, par se... I mean as a female viewer, he doesn't light my fuse (if you know what I mean)... but I really enjoyed his work in the Bourne Movies... perhaps the style of film (I am a big Bond fan after all, especially the new stuff)... but I digress, and I wanted to say that I am also looking forward to this Ultimatum with great anticipation... and this trailer of yours, enough of a tease. . .
Supremecy 2 did not dissapoint me as it did others, mainly I think, becuase from my point of view, the girl [sorry, I'm not good on names].. that was chosen to play against Damon, was well chosen in balancing things out.
Thanks for the heads up on this one, I had forgotten they were making the third one.

I understand. I haven't read the books (more than a couple of pages) but I guess you're right.
Often movies have a different approach than the books they're adapted from since they're... movies. It's very hard to make a movie the same, more than say 50-60%. That's because of all the dialogs, the film-structure, the time-frame, etc.
But they didn't have to ruin it, of course.
Lilla,
You don't like Matt? I've only heard that in this blog, and I've heard it several times, which I find strange. From a guy's point of view, I don't know, but he does seem flirty enough to me...
If you can like a movie, don't care about what people say. It's hard enough to find something to enjoy already.
It's my pleasure to give you these peeks.

The second one I assumed to be some sort of joke. Obviously another person wrote a book or something with the same character name, but not one other piece of it, people, storyline, situations were the same. It was a totally different movie entirely - you couldn't even claim to have 1% of the book in that one.
Lilla, you really don't like Matt Damon? I'll gladly take him off your hands for you! ; )

Yes, it was different, in a bad way. Haven't read the book so I don't know how accurate it was, but I believe you 100%.

Your comment would have been deleted, but the ultimate punishment would be to let everyone see how stupid you write and act.
If you prefer plain newspaper like sites, there are plenty of those out there. This is where we're entitled to OPINIONS, something I believe you can't grasp.
Even though you're probably two sad teenagers and I shouldn't actually reply in a serious matter, I didn't say I hate the Bourne-flicks, just that they won't ever reach the class of other similar ones.
If that's the shit I pull out of my ass, it's certainly better than the shit you pull out of your mouth.
Best wishes,

The way they were filmed lends to a more realistic feel for the movies rather than a slick and glossy filming formatt so overused in most movies today.
Damon doesn't over play his role. Like most of his films, he pulls off the part of playing them in a understated way quite well
And by the way, I'm David Webb.
You look tired, get some rest

I think I'll agree with you that the filming is a bit more realistic, but not the story. Greengrass tends to be more realistic, see United 93 - can it be more realistic?
