BRUCE LEE IN NEW MOVIE - I HATE IT

November 23rd 2006 18:21

Yes it's true. Bruce Lee will star in the new flick called "Rage & Fury", by Rob Cohen, the man behind Stealth, xXx, Daylight and Dragonheart. But isn't Bruce dead? Indeed he is, dead like a stone (do stones die?).

Actually what Rob will do is digitally re-create Bruce Lee, just like Dobby in Harry Potter, Gollum i LOTR and Yoda in the recent Star Wars movies. It's a nice teqnique and...

I hate it.

I mean, how serious can a movie starring a digital creature actually be? Why can't they just leave Bruce be dead instead. It's like I'm wishing this movie to become a flop and terrify others from doing the same.

Unless you would like to see Marlon Brando or Mickey Rourke digitally made on the big screen. What? Isn't Mickey dead? Well, his career is... (sorry Mickey-fans).

I'm with you about this one. Seriously , I ask myself many times where our civilization go.I would not be surprised if someone invent some android who will go to bad with our girlfriends and wifes.

And does Rob Cohen has Copyright © to do what he's planning to do.

Dude, Mickey Rourke is just hitting his stride again, he was poetry as marv in Sin City (2005)

Also check out Buffalo 66 (1998), Animal Factory (2000), Thursday (1998), The Pledge (2001) and Spun (2002)

Obviously Im a huge fan of his early classics but these new enteries are worthy additions to his filmography.

As for CG Bruce, fuck that.

Daressi, it really sucks...

As for the copyright I don't think he'll need one. I mean he's only using his name, it's like saying all biopics must have copyright. I think at least.

Cya!

Hey John!

No doubt he was great in his early stages, but that was some time ago.

I don't know, I guess, but I didn't like Sin City and I mean the man was in Stormbreaker...

Anyhow, maybe something's wrong with me. Maybe he is good, what do I know.

Heh, cya dude.

Filmpeeker,
Have you seen Mickey in anything other than Sin City from the films I listed? All made in the last 8 years.

Wont argue he has done so dog turds recently too like Stormbreaker, Once upon A Time In Mexico and Domino etc

It's a good technique if it's done well - too bad it's rarely done well.

JohnDoe,

Be objective , Mickey Rourke doesn't work much lately. But in my opinion he is very good actor . My favorite movie with Mickey in it is definitely Johnny Handsome (1989).

"Mama made some lemon jam"

EDIT: And I almost forgot Bar Fly ( Charles Bukowski autobiographic movie)

John, yea I've seen Buffalo 66 and Animal Factory, and those were good. But still it's 7 years ago.

Get Carter? They Crawl? Once Upon a Time in Mexico? Picture Claire? Domino? Stormbreaker? Sin City? Sin City 2? Sin City 3?

C'mon, nothing left of him. But sure, he might sharpen up and make something good soon, it's not like he's that old...

Jimbo, it is a good technique if you want a movie to be Science Fiction.

But Martial Arts? Action?

No, not for me.

Thanks for stopping by.

Well that's where the realistic/corny thing comes into play. If it's done really well, then they'll take into account a billion things associated with the human body that will actually make it look real. Sci fi CGI on the other hand, has to look fake and corny in order to keep that whole dimension to it.

Hey Daressi,

Absoluteley, MIckey is talented, but he's not using it correctly. I saw an interview not long ago, he was like:

"I don't know, I mean I don't see anything special with Sin City, I mean I'm an actor and like to get paid good. Then what the movie is about I don't give a shit."

Well, not exactly like that, but you get my point...

Jimbo,

I get what you're saying. Unfortunately, like you said earlier, there isn't such great way to make it look "real" yet. I mean even Spiderman looks fake when it's CGI, like he even is a real person...

I don't know, I will remain very sceptical until I see signs of commitment... wait; I mean signs of engagement... what? I mean I will remain sceptical until I see a trailer! That's right.

And I dislike the so called SciFi CGI dimension where everything looks like puppets.

Actually, he is not real actor . At first , he was boxer. Can you expect clear thoughts from a boxer. I don't think so )

Heh, nice one Daressi.

We are mean, aren't we? Yes we are, and I'm proud about it.

I wish Rourke the best, but I don't think he'll ever get my wishes. Too bad.

They've already digital Marlon in the new Superman movie. They also did a digital Laurence Olivier in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

They've been working on this Bruce Lee thing for at least a decade now, I was beginning to think it would never happen. I have mixed feelings... part of me wishes they could leave it alone, but part of me knows they can't and won't and I'm very curious to see the results.

Luke...

WHAT?

Heh, I didn't know that. All we can do now is hope for the best result ever.

Cya around.
