BUG - POSTERS

May 2nd 2007 10:43
Recently two quite nice posters were released, of the thriller Bug.

Why Bug? Because it's about a paranoid, unhinged, war veteran who sees insects everywhere and holes up with a lonely woman in a spooky Oklahoma motel room [IMDB]. Sounds lame, I know, but the buzz is good so I'm sure there's more to it.

Ashley Judd is the star and William Friedkin the director (Rules of Engagement, The Hunted).

It's released May 25, which is a long time since its first screening at last year's Cannes.

Wasn't there already a b-movie called "Bug" about carniverous, fire-starting cockroaches? I swear there was.

The scientist involved get obsessed with them, and every new batch he breeds miraculously evolves some strange new phenotype, eventually sprouting wings?!

Refer to my comment on your blog about channelsurfing.

... and did you have to say the... "buzz"... was good?

Philip!

I'm pretty sure there was a movie like that, but I'm sure it's something you saw while channel surfing on a VERY boring day.

I didn't realize the "buzz" connection until now... LOL

Have a good one,

The black and white poster really gets me excited for this film. The imagery is just so creepy, which leads me to believe Friedkin has got another spine tingling ride for us.

Anon,

Yea, the BW is really mysterious and artistic. Very nice. This might even be good!

The second poster reminds of me of the ones from films like Mothman Prophecies and The Others, which were both really good films. This will hopefully be the same.
