CANNES 2007 - OFFICIAL SCHEDULE
April 19th 2007 20:05
Cannes is a lovely place to be during the festival. It's on my to-do list, even though it's more like a dream. Some day. Some day.
Anyhow, until then I'll have to drool from a distance. The official schedule of film showings was released the other day and there are two movies I recognize and look forward too, but I'm sure there might be greater ones amongst the foreign ones.
Death Proof is the first but Zodiac is higher up my personal list.
Here's the schedule. Anyone that can recommend any of the other movies, feel free to speak (or write). Click to enlarge the list:
Ah, France... Lovely.
Cheers,

I'm a bit the same ... One day I'd love to go to the Cannes Film Festival ...
I've got a few film 'acquaintances' who have been, and I love the stories they tell me ...
I had my chance to go ... but there's just two things I can't do in life ...
1. Get on an aeroplane.
2. Brown-nose sycophant style ...
I'll just enjoy the films ...

I see... I get on an airplane at LEAST two-four times each year and I can tell you - it's safe and not terrible at all.
Unless a terrorist is on it, then it might be somewhat worse.
Live your wishes and do it now before it's late. Don't you agree?
Then again, I guess I'll just be enjoying the films forever as well.
Have a nice day,

I'll just fly in my head ...
It's the one thing I can't' do in life is get on an aeroplane ... I just can't do it ...
Last time I did? I was like jelly as it was ... then I look around and see two Muslims sitting behind me ... well, yeah, that really helped settle my nerves didn't it ...
Then one of them decides to go to the toilet ... and the toilet is by the captain's cockpit ...
Nup ...
never again thanks ...
I'll fly in my head ...

I can see why you hesitate, but I don't think flights to Cannes are that dangerous... And from Australia, I don't think terrorist even care.
But but, you know how you feel the best.

Film & TV on DVD
Canne, Telluride and Sundance are the three festivals that get me excited each year and garnish quality viewing ahead of time.
Of those listed Gus Van Sant's (Elephant) Paranoid Park looks promising...Won Kar Wai is a fave of mine and The Coen Brothers (Millers Crossing) No Country For Old Men is one I am holding my breath for.
Also James Gray's (Little Odessa) We Own The Night could be good.
Thanks for the info Peeker

Just joking, thanks for the info. All those you mention sound very good actually. I especially like the Coen brothers' work.
Have a nice one,
