DANNY BOYLE'S GREAT NEXT PROJECT
April 8th 2007 23:46
Danny Boyle is the man behind Trainspotting and 28 Days Later, the first much better than the second. This guy can make movies. His newly released film, Sunshine, has gotten positive reviews and looks pretty cool.
Now we know what his next project will be, and let me tell ya, it sound REALLY great. It's titled Slum Dog Millionaire. In an interview with Time Out, this is what he said about the plot:
If it's nearly as good as it sounds, I want to see it. Now. If someone can do it, it's Danny Boyle and that also gives me every reason to have high expectations. I know you're probably gonna tell me how much you hated 28 Days or Sunshine, but let's face it: If there's a good script, he will make a great movie. If there's only a so-so script, he'll only make a good movie. Either way, it's better than most directors succeed today.
That's all. I guess we'll have to wait a month or two for the next update on Slum Dog Millionaire.
Cheers,

It's about a kid from the slums of Mumbai, who has nothing - he's ill educated, he's illiterate - and he goes on the Hindi version of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' and wins it. And they can't believe that he's done it. They think he's cheated. They think he's getting signals from embedded chips in his body, or that there are people coughing in the audience, but he won it.
What's clever about the film is that the structure shows you how he knows the answers. Certain things have happened to him in his life and they happen to ask questions about those things. But the real reason he's on the show is to get in touch with the girl he loves but has lost in the chaos of Mumbai, and all he knows is that she watches the show religiously. So he's not even there to win the money, but that's when you win I suppose, when you're not even trying.

Just curious, Do you just visit Joblo.com each day for your stories because Ive noticed they are all worded in a similar way?

Nono, you're very wrong about this one. If you think about it, the concept is great. Original and all... Didn't you like Trainspotting? I even liked Millions pretty much.
JoBlo, sure man. However, this is mainly from Time Out (the link in my post). RSS to a million different sources and you automatically got a solid update right there
I understand your comparison to JoBlo though (and I take it in a good way), since there aren't a lot of sites writing in a personal way. I try to be personal and you know... funny. Yea, I try!
LOL
Hope you had a nice weekend dude,

I like Danny Boyle's style but Trainspotting was funny once but doesnt stand up well at all IMO..the humour works but when it tries to take itself seriously it falters..I dont mind fun drug movies but I prefer ones with a bit of meat to them as well..
Millions was harmless, but I still found it lacked anything to bring me back to it.
Thanks for the Time Out info, I just notice certain stories pop up on the web around the same time and they match Joblo. No harm inteneded and always take what I say in a "good" way, its never personal just about the films.

I see, well I guess you don't like Boyle's style that much. In some way I can understand that. He's British.
No harm at all.
