EVAN ALMIGHTY - TRAILER

March 30th 2007 10:11
Evan Almighty

I think everyone who has seen Bruce Almighty with Jim Carrey looks forward to this one, Evan Almighty. It's a good sequel since the characters and cast remains the same, and the story is completely new. No more "what will I do" but more "how will I do it".

And now we come down to a huge disappointment. The trailer. It takes all the excitement away, leaving us in a state where we just feel... "so what?". It literally shows us the whole movie in almost 3 minutes, including the ending. Why do they do that?

I wish there's a lot more to the movie itself and that this trailer doesn't represent it correctly because that would be a disaster. Judge by yourselves:

What did I say? Steve Carell (Evan) is one of my fave comedians though (up there with Will Ferrell) so I will undoubtedly give it a shot at me.

Wierd-o with a beard-o y'all!

I checked out the trailer for Evan Almighty, and it didn't grab me at all as a movie to go and see. Bruce Almighty was based on a very good idea, which was mostly worked out very well. This one just seems plain silly - but then you can't always tell from a trailer. Some of them seem to have been made by the boy who sweeps up the leftover bits of celluloid.

Hey Mike, exactly my point!

Bad trailer, very bad. Too bad it's bad, but hopefully the movie won't be as bad.

Bad bad,

I can't see it being much better than its trailer. Bruce Almighty seemed to be made for Jim Carrey and Morgan Freeman. This other fellow doesn't seem to have the punch; just seems to be reacting to everything.

Hello Mike,

Steve is super funny actually and if this movie's gonna be any good it'll be because of him. It's the rest I'm worried about, like the script, story, etc.

Okay, I had another look at the trailer (this time the sound was in sync which helped considerably) and yes, I agree, it might be worth a look. Can't say I know Steve Carell - except from what I've checked out on IMBD. Was he the obnoxious frontman in Bruce Almighty? The one who too over Bruce's job?

Yes, he's that guy in Bruce Almighty. The news reporter.

Also, check out Anchorman. I promise you'll laugh your brains out. Guaranteed.

And if you like some "adult" humor, watch 40 Year Old Virgin. Now that's FUN.

Cheers,
