It looks like Harry Potter is heading towards success at the first ever Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards to be held in the UK after receiving four nominations.
The fifth installment in the series Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - will battle against three other popular fantasy films Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Shrek the Third and The Simpsons Movie in the Best Movie category.
Daniel Radcliffe, who plays heroic wizard Harry Potter, faces strong competition in the Best Movie Actor category from Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom from Pirates of the Caribbean co-stars as well as British comic Rowan Atkinson.
Emma Watson, who plays Harry's friend Hermione Granger, is up against Cameron Diaz, Dakota Fanning and Keira Knightley for the Best Movie Actress prize.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - author J.K. Rowling's seventh and final tome in the series - has been nominated for Best Book.
Cameron Diaz, who has won several Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in the past, is excited about her Best Movie Actress nomination stating, “What a cool honour to be nominated for the first UK Kids Choice Awards. I'm going out for scones and some yummy clotted cream to celebrate. Thanks, UK kids! Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards rock. I've had a blast every time I've gone to the show."
The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards UK, hosted by British Band McFly, will happen on October 20 at London's ExCeL arena. Fans can vote by logging onto www.nick.co.uk/#/specials/kca/ or by utilising the interactive features of their digital TV box. Voting is open now and closes on September 30.
