HITMAN MOVIE UPDATE

October 11th 2007 15:05
Hitman 2007
Soon, very soon, Hitman appears in the theaters. However, before that happens there are some changes to be made.

20th Century Fox, the studio behind it, has taken the project from director Xavier Gens because of it's bloody violence that would've given it an R-rating. Instead they gave it to Nicolas De Toth to turn it into PG-13. It's Die Hard 4.0 all over again.

As long as they don't ruin it, no problem. I mean Die Hard turned out quite alright anyway. After all, as usually an unrated version will probably appear as DVD.

In other news, Timothy Olyphant, who plays Agent 47 in Hitman, said that he trained during 6 weeks with personal trainer and classes on how to shoot with automatic gun. Through this he gained 15lbs of muscle and would gain more if there was time.

As for the shaved head he said:

The costume is pretty cool, but shaving my head wasn't that great," Olyphant said. "But there's something about the shaved head and the tattoo on the back of the skull that is striking. I had to shave it on a daily basis for the movie. Every day.

Hopefully it was worth it. Go here to watch the trailer and see the poster.

They really decided to ruin the movie. Stabbing, shooting, poisoning, strangulating, suffocating is what Hitman is all about.

a game like hitman with a M rating needs the movie rating equivalent R otherwise may come off as feeling casterated

kinda worries me a little that everyone so far seems fixated on the whole blood and gore issue of violence .. sometimes lack of blood and gore and it being left to the imagination is much worse then what a director can put onto screen ... Psycho the Hitchcock classic ... the shower scene .. you saw a shadow of a hand with a knife .. and something that "might" have been blood pouring into a drain .. all shot artistically in black and white, and it carried across the message, without the need for over the top gore effects ... in more modern day films .. the amount of times you see someone take a shot and there being more blood then your average anime charcter kinda makes me worry if the director even knows how to direct, someone however standing there .. you see a gun placed to their head and then the camera pans .. theres a gunshot .. and the shooter has a small spray of red blood .. sheese you know whats happened .. you don't need a close up of the bullet tearing through a persons face with all the gore ... and anyone who says that makes a movie .. possibly needs professional help, because your stepping away from entertainment and into the realms of .. wow sick gore .. cool .. and thats what most derranged killers think

Captain Crunch go back to watching your cartoons. Now for the rest of us that love seeing the Director push the envelope, it is very disappointing. It is not staying true to the essence of what the Hitman is. There is plenty of hitman movies for us to watch if we want, but for those of us that love the Hitman game and desire to see what they could do with a movie about Agent 47, it is just a slap in the face. It will just end up being another cheesy knock off like the embarrassment that was Doom.

Why the American accent? Did you know that the game character's appearence was based on the person who provided his voice? Why not use him?
