HOLLYWOOD MAKES THE HOBBIT FOR MONEY
November 29th 2006 21:33
Elijah Wood spoke with "Empire" magazine recently, and gave us his opinion in the whole deal with the movie "The Hobbit". Here are some of the things he said:
I think it’s a total shame, primarily for Peter and his team – WETA, and the thousands of people that lent their artistic creativity for ten years to this world of Middle Earth — to imagine that somebody else would be given that opportunity, and that it essentially wouldn’t be made by the same team.
and later on:
It's just sad that it's ultimately a business decision, and not at all considering the fans.
Oh right, I agree with Elijah on some stuff, but please. In what movie was it NOT a business decision?! It's cute he implies that movies are made by producers and studios for the sake of art and fans, but that's definitely not the case. Studios always have and always will have this particular order when it comes to creating film:
1. Money
2. More Money
3. Happy Fans
4. Even More Money
5. Whatever.
6. ---
7. ---
8. ---
9.Art
That's just how Hollywood is, and it's never gonna change.

(if you think art is the main reason for making movies, don't vote. Otherwise do.)

I thought they made it because we fans asked for it, and they went like "Well, we love our fans, so lets do it, doesn't matter how much it's gonna cost us".
I'm stupid as well I guess...
