HUGH JACKMAN – WALK OF FAME
June 21st 2008 22:54
High Jackman is the latest Aussie to join Hollywood’s legendary stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He will join past recipients, Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett.
Jackman will be one of 25 stars that will be added to the pavement next year. In the film category, his neighbours will include: Tim Burton, Leslie Caron, Cameron Diaz, Robert Downey Junior, Charles Durning, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Kingsley and William H Macy.
Television stars also get their trot of fame, names including: Felicity Huffman, John Stamos, Chuck Lorre, William Petersen, Kyra Sedgwick and Mark Burnett.
In the recording category, Shakira and The Village People were chosen. The Village People addition is interesting as I would’ve thought it was a bit late to add them seeing as they were in their peak in the 70s. Perhaps I’ve missed a significant contribution they’ve made in the last decade.
The Walk of Fame was created in 1969 and is now embedded with more than 2,000 stars. It includes fictional characters such as The Simpsons, as well as human celebrities. The self-financing Hollywood Historic Trust maintains the Hollywood strip.

Trace, I agree the addition of the Village People is strange, but Shakira is even more so. Haha.
