JOSHUA - POSTER
June 1st 2007 08:43
Sometimes a poster doesn't need to show something scary to be scary. Or creepy. This poster just shows a boy looking at himself in a painting and immediately it transfers this creepy feeling.

That's the type of film I'd go to see ... (I don't go out much ... certainly not to the cinema ... It takes something a bit different to get me to go ... [even then, I tend to wait until it comes out on DVD (and even then I don't watch it ...
But back in my active days?
I went to see Bad Boy Buby on the strength of the poster and caption. "He's been in his room for 30 years. It's time to let him out." (Or something like that ...
So, I might make the effort to see this one at the cinema ...
Thanks for this ...

That IS a great poster, but to get you to the cinema... wow. =)
What you're saying is true - a poster often makes us want to see the film, at least until a crappy trailer is released...

I like what you wrote about it ...
As in, it's not the blatantly scary/creepy things that frighten us ... we're all a bit numbed to them nowadays ...
But the fear of what's to come? Now that's scary ...
Even moreso if you don't know what it is ... but you've been forewarned or given a premonition of it ..
It's like a thug saying to someone, 'Something terrible is going to happen to you in exactly one week's time.' And then the thug just turns his back, walks away, and just leaves the someone wondering ...
I like the poster ... It's different ... it's simple but it's suggestive ...
