MARK WAHLBERG TO STAR IN THE NEW SHYAMALAN FLICK
March 29th 2007 21:37
Great news folks! It's a good period for castings. First we had Helen Mirren and Ed Harris in National Treasure 2 and now we have Mark Wahlberg in The Happening, the new movie of very criticized director M. Night Shyamalan.
I like Wahlberg and I like Shyamalan (why do they need to have such complicated names?), so I couldn't be more excited. I know that both are on a point where the smallest mistake can destroy them, but I believe in the best. After a solid performance by Mark in The Departed and some original and suspenseful movies by Shyamalan, like The Village and Sixth Sense, everyone should be able to forgive.
Judging from what I've heard, The Happening will be a bit scarier and spookier than the previous films. The basic plot is that Mother Nature seeks revenge on Earth. Sounds good to me anyway.
Mark will be playing Elliot Moore, a man who takes his family on the run when the world turns upside and a cataclysmic natural crisis threatens to end the world.
I hope for something far better than the Lady in the Water, which I didn't think was as bad as the media has gotten the audience to believe, but far from great too.
Will keep you updated as more news arrive.
