METAL MEN AND DARJEELING
April 4th 2007 20:25
Now on to two quickies.
Metal Men is currently set up as a project for Warner Bros. Pictures. Just when I thought we had enough of team-hero-movies like Fantastic Four, X-Men, Justice League and Watchmen we get one more. I personally haven't heard much about Metal Men, but it seems like there are different characters with abilities represented by different metals. Oh and they're robots.
At least it's gonna be written by Eric Champnella, the man who turned a very boring concept to a rather attractive movie, called Mr. 3000. This can become good.
Then we have a new poster that has seen the light. As a big fan of Wes Anderson and Natalie Portman, this is really exciting. The movie is The Darjeeling Limited (don't ask me how it's pronounced) and seems like something I will certainly love. Other peeps in it are Owen Wilson (so-so), Adrien Brody (nice) and Jason Schwartzman (interesting).
It's about three brothers, probably played by the above male actors, that go on a journey through India when their father dies. Biographical adventures have never disappointed and I don't think this will either. In matter of fact this will probably be better than most.
The poster is very original and reminds me of a classic book cover. Only thing is the woman in it doesn't look like Natalie Portman and I guess that's what it's supposed to do.

I don't know if they have such noses "in real life", but probably similar. Also, they're very thin, weird looking robots. I don't know if they're gonna succeed with something dark, because the robots by themselves are very funny.
Love the poster and hopefully/probably the movie too.

Film & TV on DVD
Im dying to see the stop motion bliss him and Henry Selick (Nightmare Before X Mas) conjure with Roald Dahl's The Fantastic Mr Fox

The Fantastic Mr Fox looks awesome. With Wes, Henry and voices by Clooney, Blanchett, Schwartzman... Wow.
I'm very into animation.
Cheers,
