NEVER TOO YOUNG FOR YOUR DREAMJOB
November 20th 2006 01:46
Who said you must reach a certain age in order to fully be able to do what you dream of? Cause you don't. All it takes is some love for that specific topic of yours and tiny amount of talent that you later can build upon.
Seriously, I've met plenty of young people that already got their dream job. Like screenwriting.
Eric J. Seidman, still studies in college but already write scripts for Hollywood. Sorry, that would need some more emphasis, like, a college-student writes for HOLLYWOOD!!
I'm really happy for him, cause he must be born with that artistic talent, and wish him best of luck in the future. It's there, his future, just being bright and long…
Anyhow, read an interview and Eric's story over here. And then go do what you dream of without looking back or listening to all the nay-sayers wishing they had dreams of their own.
I know I do.
What's your dream?

I want Bono to read one of my posts and say, "She makes a good point".
And then I would like to follow that up with another good point!
Live the dream. As small as it may seem!

I took a look at your site and you really seem to know what you're doing. Nice reviews and critique, so who knows, maybe one day... Look at advertisements or search for jobs in local newspapers as a film critic, after all, you already got some samples of your work.
Good Luck!

Nay-sayers are annoying indeed.
To make Bono read your post shouldn't be a problem, right? Maybe some day he will stand on the stage of a big gala and announce he's influenced by Mrs M's thoughts and therefore has taken the decision to become a better person. Or something like that. =)

You can sign up as provider and start bidding on projects. Only problem is you have to pay a small membership, but it's worth it.

This is a good post. You really are never too young for your dreamjob. I think it's also important to remember that you're never too old!!!
I decided this year that I wanted to do more to pursue my dream of being able to only work part time in the corporate world and make a living from writing. It started with Orble and now I've done a few music reviews for an online mag. Just taking small steps and doing some things like this on my own time have already made me so much happier.
I just need to capitalise on it and do more to get myself there!
Great site you've got here!

Indeed doing what you love really makes you happier, especially if you feel the urge to express yourself.
You're a great writer, which I can tell through your blog, and I hope you best of luck in pursuing that dream!

Whoever posted this, do I know you? If so, thank you. If not, thank you for posting this.
To me, age is just a number. I may only be 20 years old, but instead of going out and partying or drinking non-stop, like 99 % of college students, I worked on honing my skills and practicing my technique and writing.
And, in all honesty, that type of sacrifice and dedication is what it takes. There are many talented people in this world but what sets the successful ones apart from others is the discipline and sacrifice it takes to reach that success.

Hey Eric, it's an honor to have you commenting here, thanks for stopping by!
I don't know you although I know what you did (through the article mentioned above). You prove that anyone can do what he or she burns for inside.
I'm a screenwriter myself actually, and that's why I'm pretty amazed by what you do. Hope to hear from ya!
Good luck!

I'm extremely busy with close to eight projects going on right now, either in preproduction or development, but if anybody has any questions, comments, etc, post them on my IMDB message board and I guarantee answers/responses.
Too many people lose touch with fans and moviegoers these days when, in fact, the movie business would not exist without them.

That's great to be able to contact you through IMDB, will have it in mind.

"5:57", the script of mine optioned by Fred C. Caruso is currently in preliminary stages of attaching talent. Can't name who yet, but he is an academy award winner.
"Becker Hargrove, Inc", I just wrapped filming on a short film I directed in Miami, which was Exec. Produced by Brett Ratner.
"4th and Forever", my feature directorial debut this summer is finalizing casting now and will be shot in 8 days in June/July of this year. Casting all unknowns. Will be distributed either in video stores, or select theatres when done.
"Mrs. Nash's Coattails", a script I was hired to write by David Younger (actor - Boiler Room, Prime), who's brother Ben Younger (writer/director - Boiler Room, Prime) is going to shop around when done.
There are others but those are the most exciting right now. Hope everyone had a great new year and is as excited for 2007 as I am.
Remember, if anyone has any questions, etc, my e-mail address is on my website, or discussions can be held on my IMDB page.

Academy Award winner, wow! I guess you'll have that title soon as well, won't you?
I'm finishing a script myself. Would be great if we could discuss further sometime, I'm very curious about your work and life in general.
There's a nice and pretty silent chat over at scribosphere.org. If you find some time to visit, I'll maybe be there...
Have a good one and best luck,
