SWEENEY TODD - TRAILER!

Finally a trailer to one of the amazing movies that are to be released before this year ends. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, with the spotless collaboration of Johnny Depp and Tim Burton approaches, and we get a taste right now.

If you don't know much about Sweeney Todd yet, head over here.


The trailer looks great, exactly the way you would expect a Tim Burton movie to look, and we get a nice preview of the story without spoilers. Also, you can never go wrong with Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat), who has a small role in this as well.

I didn't know that this was being made into a movie - I absolutely can't wait! I saw the musical a couple of years ago, and it was just brilliant. The cast looks fantastic, and I'm ecstatic that Tim Burton is directing - this really is his sort of film.

I would also like to see the musical, but I never get what I like so...

Tim Burton is the man and Johnny... the man as well. I just hope he doesn't make his movies too similar to each other cause then it wouldn't be fun anymore.

I had no odea this was in the works until someone showed me the traier a few days ago - amazing. Nothing gets me buzzing quite as much as Burton and Depp working together - it has produced some of cinema's timeless classics!

I wonder what great songs they're going to cut from this movie. Yes, it has a great cast and a great director, but the fact that it is a musical is going to turn people away. And for us die hard fans of musicals, it's alway upsetting, because they tend to cut out really good stuff, like dreamgirls (Ain't No Party) and Rent (which was just an utter disappointment and insult to the stage version)

I personally was relieved to hear that movie executives are already complaining about the amount of gore in this film; its a very VERY good sighn also in terms of a leading man I think depp was the only choice, think about it, its just too perfect. Plus if you can trust anyone to do this right its tim burton, from what Ive heard he's being very respectful to the creator of the musical which probably means he wont cut too much of the music, though I too would prefer that none get cut. The time between now and christmas can not possibly pass quickly enough, this is gonna be the best thing ever.

I gotta say, I think Daniel Day Louis would have been a much better choice if your gonna go with a hollywood name. But the fact is, Michael Cerveris should be playing the role. Johnny Depp is great, but he's not my first choice for this role. And yes, it most likely will not at all live up to the musical. If they cut "Try the priest", I'll eat Burton in a pie.

They can't cut A Little Priest. The song is necessary to make the horrible disgusting people that Sweeney and Lovett are ... well ... sympathetic.

Not wanting to burst eager movie goer's bubble, but what if someone wrote a musical about Ted Bundy, or John Wayne Gacey, or Charles Mason, etc.? Does the fact that what Sweeney Todd did make it less of a horror because it was done long before any of us were born? There really was such a barber. Perhaps if people knew the real story, they might think differently.....But, then maybe not.
