The Edge of Love, Keira Knightley's next film is written by Sharman Macdonald, Knightley's mother. Fame is definitely running in the family. Another period piece, it stars Cillian Murphy (The Dark Knight, The Wind That Shakes the Barley, Sienna Miller (Stardust, Alfie), Matthew Rhys (Virgin Territory, Love and Other Disasters) and singer Lisa Stansfield. The cast is massive, even including the lead singer of 80s band, Madness, Suggs McPherson.
Originally titled The Best Time of Our Lives, the story concerns the famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas (played by Rhys), his wife Caitlin MacNamara (played by Miller) and their married friends, the Killicks (played by Knightley and Murphy).
The tale is told through the lives of the two significant women in Thomas’ life who form an unpredicted friendship through their connection with Thomas. Vera (Knightley) and Thomas were in love ten years ago and when they meet again in London, they realise those feelings still exist. Caitlin (Sienna Miller) is his audacious wife, adept at using her beauty and always ready for some fun.
When Vera meets and marries handsome Officer William Killick (Cillian Murphy), Dylan resents his presence. Consequently, Vera is forced to decide who she wants to be with, William or Dylan.
The tale is set in the undulating beauty of the Welsh countryside.

I have my doubts too. I'm not a KK fan at all... she drives me nutty. But I am interested in seeing a film about Thomas' life. I might wait and see what others think...
