TOM CRUISE‘S NEW FILM – THE 28TH AMENDMENT
May 15th 2008 22:30
It looks like Tom Cruise is entering the onscreen political world. I guess it was bound to happen.
It seems Tom Cruise will be joining Denzel Washington for the Warner Brothers thriller The 28th Amendment. Australian director Phillip Noyce (Rabbit-Proof Fence, The Bone Collector) is ready to oversee the project. Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, co writers of Transformers have written the script.
Cruise will play the President (of course), Ben Cahill who learns that the USA is being controlled by a secret organization headed by Denzel Washington. Washington, a callous leader, disposes all of all who get in his way. The President's recently learned knowledge puts him directly in their firing line.
Noyce is the third director to be associated with the film, following Kevin MacDonald (One Day in September) and Richard Donner (Superman).

I see Tom is getting on the trend of political stuff. He is a similar character in Lions for Lambs for instance. But this sounds more fun and includes Denzel.

But I do like Denzel, and Phillip Noyce, of course.

I know what you mean, I'm no Cruise fan either... but I think this has potential because of Denzel and Noyce. I guess we'll just have to wait and see

I haven't seen Lions for Lambs, I didn't know Cruise was dabbling in politics in that role.
I agree, films with Denzel have potential..as long as it's not too formulaic.
