On the set of THOR

June 10th 2010 22:31
Thor clip

You know they make superhero movies these days right? Like a lot. Thing is, movies based on comic-books are much more popular than before, people take them seriously and the budgets are off the roof, which leads to big A-list names.

Now, Chris Hemsworth who plays the title character in Thor might not be that well know, but it is alright when you got Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins by your side. In this behind the scenes clip I get the feeling Thor might not be dirty enough, but Chris seems to be a cool dude so who knows... Take a look at the clip after the jump.

Four minute clip from A-Team

A-Team clip

A-Team is out this week and I had the good fortune to see it early. It's a very entertaining movie, perfect to start of the summer, even though it's a bit too... much. But hey, it's A-Team, what do you expect?

Here's 4 minutes from the movie to give you a taste in case you're not sure what it's all about. This scene introduces Murdock, the crazy one.

scott pilgrim trailer

Universal Pictures promised a new trailer to the immensely popular comic book movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World if the movie's Facebook-page reached 100 000 fans, something they followed up when it recently did.

Having seen the trailer I don't really know what to think. If I was a comic book character I'd probably have a big "wow" above my head and a very confused expression on my face. It's like nothing I've seen before but at the same time it might be just a bit... silly?

Take a look yourself and let me know:

Jerry Bruckheimer is kinda desperate to create the movie that can take over his Pirates-franchise, and with the less successful Prince of Persia he really hopes that'll be The Sorcererís Apprentice.

Jon Turteltaub directs this magical movie with Nicolas Cage in the leading part, something they're used to since National Treasure together. Take a look at this behind the scenes footage and let me know what you think:

Four minutes from Knight and Day

knight and day clip

Whatever you say about Tom Cruise there's no denying in the fact that he knows his stuff. In his new movie, Knight and Day, he has some amazing action scenes, all with perfect comedic timing.

Cameron Diaz in the female role is looking good too, dragged into a dangerous mission she soon find herself a bit too comfortable sitting backwards on a motorcycle and shooting with both hands.

Take a look at the clip from the movie after the jump.

Life as We Know It - trailer

May 27th 2010 16:25
life as we know it trailer

Two single adults become caregivers to an orphaned girl when their mutual best friends die in an accident.

Katherine Heigl is kinda connected with awkward comedies and a lot of girls will be stoked to see Duhamel, but other than that, the trailer to this comedy doesn't exactly give me high expectations. Why do two adults need to live together in order to take care of a child? Anyone heard of separated homes?

Morning Glory - trailer

May 27th 2010 16:20
morning glory trailer

A hotshot television producer is set the challenge of reviving a struggling morning show program, despite the constant feuding of its high-profile anchors.

Rachel McAdams is good as the hard-working but likable girl, and Harrison Ford seems to enjoy parts that are odd and a bit crazy... Morning Glory has opens at fall.

Shanghai - trailer

shanghai trailer

A '40s period piece which revolves around an American expat who returns to Shanghai in the months before Pearl Harbor due to the death of his friend.

In Shanghai we see jeffrey Dean Morgan and John Cusack. It's an early trailer so the quality isn't the best but this Casablanca-reminding movie looks exciting.

star trek movie
Exciting stuff for all the fans out there, but really, for all the other movielovers as well. J.J. Abrams is directing this epic (hopefully) filmversion of Star Trek, and the trailer has been out for few days now. Looks good. Yea. Looks interesting and fresh, whatever that means.

Seriously, I love that it begins grounded in "reality" and continues into the sci-fi world we recognize. And most importantly, dear movielovers, it looks like something you don't have to be a fan of to enjoy.

Tropic Thunder downey
I thought I would share this trailer for Tropic Thunder with you, since I myself laughed really hard watching it. Love the characters and especially Robert Downey Jr. I can already smell comedic success.

Released 13th August.

Daniel Craig is James Bond once again, and this time he'll get personal while trying to revenge the death of his love. The villain is played by Mathieu Amalric, an immensely talented french actor. [IMDB]

Quantum of Solace is out November 7th 2008, but take a look at the trailer and let us know what you think.

Babylon A.D.
Vin Diesel does finally deliver a serious action-flick again, being away on dramas and kids movies. Babylon A.D. has had some photos and posters circulating now and then, but ultimately we got a trailer on which we can base our expectations a bit more.

More info and some behind-the-scenes footage of Babylon A.D. can be found over here.

Hulk and Iron Man
I saw Iron Man few week ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's really smart to have Tony Stark, the Iron Man in human state, appear in The Incredible Hulk since it connects the two Marvel movies implying that they're on the same level of awesomeness. If you like the one, you'll like the other. Here you can watch the TV Spot with both in it:

Keira Knightley

The Edge of Love, Keira Knightley's next film is written by Sharman Macdonald, Knightley's mother. Fame is definitely running in the family. Another period piece, it stars Cillian Murphy (The Dark Knight, The Wind That Shakes the Barley, Sienna Miller (Stardust, Alfie), Matthew Rhys (Virgin Territory, Love and Other Disasters) and singer Lisa Stansfield. The cast is massive, even including the lead singer of 80s band, Madness, Suggs McPherson.

Originally titled The Best Time of Our Lives, the story concerns the famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas (played by Rhys), his wife Caitlin MacNamara (played by Miller) and their married friends, the Killicks (played by Knightley and Murphy).

The tale is told through the lives of the two significant women in Thomasí life who form an unpredicted friendship through their connection with Thomas. Vera (Knightley) and Thomas were in love ten years ago and when they meet again in London, they realise those feelings still exist. Caitlin (Sienna Miller) is his audacious wife, adept at using her beauty and always ready for some fun.

When Vera meets and marries handsome Officer William Killick (Cillian Murphy), Dylan resents his presence. Consequently, Vera is forced to decide who she wants to be with, William or Dylan.

The tale is set in the undulating beauty of the Welsh countryside.

Woody Allenísí new film, Vicky Cristina Barcelona will debut at the Cannes Film Festival in the next few days and its trailer has just been released.

The filmís line up is diverse and appealing, including Scarlett Johansson, Javier Bardem, Patricia Clarkson, and Penťlope Cruz.

This is Allenís first film to be shot in Spain and features dialogue in both Spanish and English. It centres on a painter (Bardem) who becomes involved with two American tourists (Johansson and Hall). Cruz is Bardem's jealous ex-girlfriend, and judging by the last shot of the trailer, she definitely takes her jealousy to the next level.

The trailer which has no dialogue is seductively atmospheric, capturing the alluring essence of Spain.

speed racer trailer
This is a movie worth mentioning and since we haven't had the chance to talk about it yet, here it is. Speed Racer is originally a Japanese story/animation by Tatsuo Yoshida, that now will turn into live action by the Wachowski brothers. [IMDB]

If you're a fan of either Matrix or V for Vendetta, Speed Racer is probably already marked with high expectations. I'm one of them (at least if we only count the first Matrix). The movie has already had its premiere, gaining mixed reviews. I guess it's a perfect example of the "you'll either love or hate it" situation.

Myself will have to wait with choosing on which side I'll stand, and enjoy the trailer until I experience the whole Speed Racer experience.

The Igor trailer has just been released and itís appealing. It seems to have some grit and unusual quirkiness that many other films in the same genre donít have. The world is purple, dark and rampant with mad scientists and evil inventions.

John Cusack replaces Christian Slater as the voice of Igor, a gifted hunch-back scientist who is a slave to a spiteful scientist called Dr. Glickenstein. Sean Hayes plays Brian the Brain, one of Igorís sidekicks who is a brain in a jar that speaks. Other familiar voices are Steve Buscemi, Eddie Izzard, and Jay Leno.

Igorís greatest dream is to win the coveted first place award at the annual Evil Science Fair. But apparently 'Igors' don't belong in that world. They are meant to remain where they are, serving masters.

Consequently, Igor spends his days barely mustering up the enthusiasm to say "Yes, Master" while dreaming about creating his own monster. I know that his determination will fuel his afforts to leave his downtrodden world and evil master.

hellboy 2 trailer
The first Hellboy movie became very discrete in the sense that marketing and buzz wasn't exactly fair to its quality. Unfortunately it happens that good movies often are treated worse than seriously weak ones.

The companies get another chance though, with Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, the sequel to Guillermo Del Toro's own comic character. And well enough, this time we hear a lot more about it than we did with the previous one and we do so from a very early stage. Now the full length trailer is out, showing Hellboy smash things up and fighting enormous creatures with his hands and blazing hot guns.

I'm not completely pleased, not to say it doesn't look great. I just feel Del Toro is stuck in the same creature-designs and stories, but then again it's what only he can do and does it very well.

Pretty hilarious clip, of a fat boy visiting the press set where Simon Pegg and director David Schwimmer sit.

I'm not sure if they knew about it, but it seems like they have no idea what's going on. Watch the trailer for Run Fat Boy Run here and the clip here:

pineapple express
We haven't talked about this movie much, but it sure is worth it, so here you get it in the face. Pineapple Express is the title and Seth Rogen is the keyname. Seth has great comedy and it's proven with Superbad and Knocked Up.

In Pineapple Express we also get James Franco as his partner in crime (or smoooke), who is more of an actor than a comedian. Which is good, you get funny story in quality package.

The movie is about a stoner and his dealer that are forced to go on the run from the police after the pothead witnesses a cop commit a murder. [IMDB]

A trailer is out and it hits the target, with a tagline saying "one hit could ruin your entire day". However the poster looks fine too, but with another tagline, the still as fun "put this in your pipe and smoke it".

Pineapple Express is released August 8th.
