RAILS & TIES - TRAILER

September 16th 2007 18:06
Rails and Ties
Today is a good day for interesting trailers, like Juno that I posted about earlier. Rails & Ties is also a drama but not as much comedy.

It starts with a deadly collision between a train and car that leads to an unlikely bond between the train engineer and a young boy who escapes the carnage. [IMDB]

The trailer is quite heart-breaking, but usually that's a good thing. If a trailer manages to make us involved in the characters, what will the whole movie do? We'll see October 26th.

Did I say that it's directed by Clint Eastwood's daughter, Alison Eastwood? She really seems to follow in her father's steps, thankfully.

JUNO - TRAILER

September 16th 2007 17:51
juno
Juno is a highly interesting movie that sadly only gets released in limited amount 14:th of December (US).

The cast is great and talented - Ellen Page, Michael Cera, Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman are just few names. And yes, the fact that two of these names are connected with Arrested Development assures it'll be a blast. Although don't get fooled, this is just as much drama.

Hopefully Juno is as good as its trailer.

ELIZABETH: THE GOLDEN AGE - TRAILER

September 10th 2007 17:44
elizabeth golden age
In the Toronto International Film Festival several new movies premiered their trailers, one of which was this one, Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

Cate Blanchett won the Best Actress honor for I'm Not There in Venice Film Festival, which yet again proves my claim that she's the best actress currently in business.

Judging by the trailer of Elizabeth: The Golden Age, some more awards are awaiting her after its opening, October 12.

Watch the trailer here.

Iron man

Finally a trailer of the solid Iron Man. Even though it was expected for a bit later, Apple made it official quickly. It looks amazing, Robert Downey Jr. is cool and fun and we get a taste of the film's structure, from beginning to...

IN THE VALLEY OF ELAH - TRAILER

September 5th 2007 05:15
The last time Paul Haggis directed a movie, Crash, it won the Oscar for best picture. Now that his next directorial effort is due, all are waiting to see what he can create without Ludacris in his cast, because apparently it is believe that it was Luda who swayed the Academy into making this decision. Who knows if this is true?

In The Valley of Elah is Haggis' meditation on the impact war has on those who fight it. It stars Tommy Lee Jones as a father who is searching for his son, who is missing after returning from Iraq. Charize Theron plays a police detective and Susan Sarandon plays Lee's wife

HITMAN - TRAILER

Hitman poster

I've never played the game and never will, but I don't hate the concept of Hitman. A gun-for-hire known as Agent 47 is ensnared in a political conspiracy, while hired by a group known as "The Agency" to kill targets for cash. [IMDB]

SAW IV - TRAILER

August 11th 2007 09:58
I haven't seen any of the Saw films as I'm too scared, but I'm sure there are many of you out there that enjoyed the previous films. In this fourth one, Jigsaw still haunts the living, forcing them to appreciate life, or face death. That doesn't seem like much of a choice to me.

As a continuation of Saw III, Jeff must find his daughter and escape the building where they are trapped before they both die. After finding another tape of Jigsaw, Jeff realizes there may be a newly added piece of the puzzle that he must decipher before it's too late

WE OWN THE NIGHT - TRAILER

August 5th 2007 03:01
WE OWN THE NIGHT
OK, I’ll admit that the main reason this film, We Own the Night caught my attention was because of Mark Wahlberg, I think he’s hot stuff. But I don’t think the film will be for me, but then again who knows, I could be surprised.

The film has received positive reviews everywhere it has been shown, including the Cannes Film Festival. The cast includes Oscar nominees Mark Wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix and is written and directed by James Gray, who worked with both Wahlberg and Phoenix on his last movie called The Yards back in 2000
