VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA TRAILER – WOODY ALLEN’S NEW FILM

May 14th 2008 10:23
CRUZ - VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA

Woody Allen’s’ new film, Vicky Cristina Barcelona will debut at the Cannes Film Festival in the next few days and its trailer has just been released.

The film’s line up is diverse and appealing, including Scarlett Johansson, Javier Bardem, Patricia Clarkson, and Penélope Cruz.

This is Allen’s first film to be shot in Spain and features dialogue in both Spanish and English. It centres on a painter (Bardem) who becomes involved with two American tourists (Johansson and Hall). Cruz is Bardem's jealous ex-girlfriend, and judging by the last shot of the trailer, she definitely takes her jealousy to the next level.

The trailer which has no dialogue is seductively atmospheric, capturing the alluring essence of Spain.

Thanks for the heads up on the trailer Tracy, looks beautiful (and I'm not only talking about Scarlett). I enjoy Woody's films in a weird way.

What a funny trailer! The girls all look really natural, which is nice, though I'm not much of a Pene fan.

What I gathered about the plot - everyone is having it off with everyone else, then someone gets hurt... always the way of it.

Hi peeker

I've enjoyed some of Woody's films too, although some have driven me nutty with his neurotic antics.

I'm keen to see this one,

Hi Mich

Yes, it is an unusual trailer isn’t it? It really captured my attention, especially the music. I like your description of it

I think Penelope’s acting skills are far better when she’s speaking in Spanish, she seems more passionate and convincing than in English. Have you seen Volver?

Thanks for popping in,

Tracy

I'm looking forward to a movie set in Barcelona which offers girl-on-girl action... bring it on!

Yes, I agree, far more convincing speaking in her native tongue! Maybe English causes her to become a bit stilted...

Yes, I think so. To me, there's a huge difference between her performance in Vanilla Sky and Volver...

Are you looking forward to seeing Bardem if you see this one?

Ha! Vanilla Sky... yeuch.

Oh yeah, Trace - I was already thinking I might take a look when I first heard of it, but he makes it must-see in my opinion!

I know, wasn't it a load of rubbish? Completely ridiculous and confusing for no good reason.

Barden is looking pretty good, most appealing
